*A prequel novella meant to be read last after all the other books
What a bizarre little novella. Although Wretched Wicked is a prequel, it has spoilers for later books, so the author recommends readers save this title for last. The story is narrated from Fritz’s point of view and shares how Fritz came to hire Cèsar for the Office of Preternatural Affairs. Early on, Reine establishes that while Fritz is “not gay” (he says to a male sexual partner), he does have a voracious sexual appetite that can accommodate men. Therefore, during the total apocalypse and end of Earth as Reine created it, Fritz realizing he’s in love with Cèsar seemed abrupt. I saw no clues beforehand. Now, in this prequel, Reine demonstrates that Fritz isn’t just a straight, hypermacho character. Other than Fritz’s sexuality, Wretched Wicked gives readers clues about what happened after the Earth was destroyed. The gods recreated Earth, but there are no longer kopis-aspis bonds, some people were reincarnated as faeries instead of human, and the landscapes has changed (I didn’t notice why, but Cèsar, Fritz, Suzy, and Isobel are now in Greenland instead of California). In the next series, what will the world look like? It’s going to be completely different from everything I’ve read thus far.
Well, that wraps up the whole series. I hope you’ve been entertained over the past week while I recovery. I wouldn’t say this was the blogging equivalent of leaving the TV on so the cat doesn’t get lonely while you’re at work, but I wouldn’t deny it either.
Keep an eye out for comment replies at Grab the Lapels and new comments on your own blogs as I catch up.

I hope your recovery went well Melanie! I have enjoyed this, thank you for keeping the tv on for us 🙂

Milly does that. Leaves the telly on to keep her little dog company while she’s out. Does it work? I’ve no idea. But thanks for leaving the telly on for us – and sorry I snuck out through the dog flap instead of taking part. Hope your recovery went/is going ok.

My mom watched my cat one time and left him Frosties (Wendy’s ice cream) and put the TV on Telemundo. I just feel bad I couldn’t leave you guys any treats!

I am so impressed that you set these up, and with such interesting posts, in advance. When I go away I struggle to get a few posts written, but this number? Nope. And, you are back on deck before I got to the end, which is even more impressive. Hope you are well and truly well now.
BTW “prequel” feels like quite a problematic term to me. It feels like, even though written after, it should be read before if you haven’t already read the series, but prequels are far more complicated than that I am learning. Sometimes it’s a perfectly logical and OK thing to do but other times, like here apparently, it isn’t! How are readers to know?
