Good morning! After thinking about it for weeks, I’ve decided the Sunday Lowdown will be suspended indefinitely. I’ve mentioned it before, but as my career path and focus shift, I’m running into more situations in which I am ethically bound by confidentiality. Also, interpreting in a complex process, so when I can describe what I’ve been doing lately, it requires a good deal of context I don’t have the time or energy to write. Furthermore, some of what I learn/find interesting is connected to the language of ASL, which means I should not ethically be teaching you about it; it belongs to the Deaf community.
Please remember that you can subscribe to my ASL-English Interpreting Blog, which I will start updating more often with questions and thoughts about circumstances related to interpretation. For instance, I recently came across the phrase “green zone,” which I think the person was using to mean “satisfying,” but I’m not sure. How might I take that phrase, break it down, and really understand the concept — and then sign it in a different language for a different culture?
If you’re one of my horror friends, be on the lookout for more posts from my movie blog, I Screamed it for Free, for which I watch movies on Tubi and write my thoughts with spoilers. I post there at least once per week, often more. The posts should feel more conversational, as if we’ve watched the movie together and are now talking about it. I’ve been watching many Tubi originals lately, and I know some Tubi originals are mystifyingly bad, but they’ve had a few true bangers in 2024.
Lastly, if something notable happens, I will write a short paragraph under my latest review. I realized adding that extra note is easy after I read Anne Logan’s book review of Hey, Zoey by Sarah Crossan that concluded with an update about meeting Karissa, also a book blogger friend.
Thanks so much for reading TWO-HUNDRED-AND-NINETY-ONE Sunday Lowdowns. That’s almost six years, for those of you mathing. Don’t forget to keep reading my reviews!

Thank you for successfully putting in the time, effort, and love into sharing six years and 291 Sunday Lowdowns with us. TTYs. Love ~B 💙

NNNNNNOOOOOOO! How will I know about date nights and Biscuit and garage sales and flowers and toads? Is there no way to keep the Sunday Lowdown and leave out the interpreting stuff?

I’ll still add that stuff as it happens at the bottom of my reviews! Sitting down and coming up with a whole post for Sundays has become tedious. If I have a whole bunch of stuff to add, I’ll do a Sunday Lowdown one off.

What Stefanie says! But I understand that the these things can become a chore and that’s not fun. Thanks for all the posts – I have loved them.

You’re so welcome. I might do one here and there if it’s a special week, but every Sunday was too much. Like I said, I’ll add bits of me to the bottom of my reviews.

Well, I’ll look forward to your personal notes at the end of the reviews. I really do enjoy “keeping up” with you through your blog! Thanks for the Lowdowns!

Sure thing! I like how folks are listing exactly what they would miss. It seems like the stuff I would consider mundane, which makes me feel loved, actually.

It’s not mundane because you put a you-type spin on everything you write, and you are interesting.

Hey Jinjer, keep an eye out for my weekly reviews, which will contain info about what I’m up to, if there’s anything interesting.

Your reasons for suspending the Sunday Lowdown make sense! You can only do so much, and I’m glad I can continue to connect with you over bookish things 🙂 And thanks for the shout out!!!

You’re welcome! Your post stood out to me because I know unless we’re in the comment section, your posts don’t tell us much about you. Which, now that I think about it, I find fascinating because your posts aren’t about you. How did I glean all this great info about you as a person? Just the comments! This has given me a newfound appreciation for why book blogging is so different from spaces like Goodreads or The Storygraph.

so true! We do tend to converse more in the comments, which is fun 🙂

I’ve enjoyed your Sunday updates but your reasoning makes a lot of sense.
